MINDLESS vandals trashed a Christmas scene set up to raise cash for sick children.
Each year Ian Clifton spends six months adorning his home on Lincoln Close, Westgate, with Christmas lights and features to claw in funds for Derian House childrens' hospice.
Last year he raked in £3,500 for the cause by opening his home for the public to view his decorations. Now someone has destroyed part of his display.
A six-feet by two-feet sign inviting people to his open house and highlighting the cause was smashed and thrown onto the road last Thursday, says Ian.
"I spend a lot of my own money on this. The sign alone cost me £100 and I am very angry that someone has done this. I don't make anything out of this and so it is a very sad deed someone has done.
Ian adds: "I don't understand why anyone would do this. It annoys me that people think that they can just go around damaging other people's property."
