A WALK in the park has led to a residents' fight against anti-social behaviour being backed by an MP.
People living around the Palatine recreation area in Scotforth have been battling against vandalism, loud noise and run-down facilities for months.
They have been calling for action to be taken and last Saturday Lancaster and Wyre MP Ben Wallace took to the park to see the problems for himself.
Mr Wallace, pictured talking to residents at the recreation area, says: "I support the com-munity's enthusiasm for a cherished and valuable facility. There are people who care for this place and they won't put up with any anti-social behaviour."
Residents are now hoping that the future will be brighter for the park and chairman of the residents' group Neil Clarke says: "In the New Year, along with Groundwork Trust - a charity which helps with such community initiatives- we will be consulting local residents about what facilities they want in the recreation ground and how they'd like it to be run.
"We want to reclaim the Palatine recreation ground with everyone in the area on board."
