A KENDAL charity is hosting an auction night in a bid to bring a bit of festive cheer to the homeless this Christmas.
Manna House homeless charity has collected over 75 items from local businesses to be auctioned off at the Shakespeare Centre, Kendal on December 10 at 10am.
There will also be coffee, cake and a white elephant stall with all proceeds going towards providing a Christmas dinner and shoebox gift for homeless people on December 27.
Charity director Jonathan Brook said that they hope to raise between £500 and £1000 from the event.
"There will be items of quality clothing, grooming products, beauty vouchers, dinner for two and much more with some great ideas for Christmas presents," he said.
The charity also offers a number of other services including housing advice, a drop-in centre, a skills caf for employment training and a step-by-step programme to help overcome drug addiction.
