THREE local councils have all joined forces in a bid to encourage all those living in the Morecambe Bay area to do their bit for recycling.
This is the first time all three authorities South Lakeland District Council, Barrow Borough Council and Lancaster City council have joined together to pool resources and encourage more of us than ever to think about the way we dispose of our rubbish.
The joint approach is being backed by a 13-week radio campaign, due to begin on Bay radio next week, when the message will be Recycle, not landfill let's sort it out together'.
In addition to the radio campaign all three councils will be introducing recycling banks for clothes and other textiles. A bus advertising the campaign will also be winding around the streets of South Lakeland to reinforce the message.
