A COMMERCIAL vehicle specialist in South Lakeland that supplied a Kendal company with an entire fleet of vans said it was an excellent example of local business-to-business working.

PWA Commercials, based at Kendal Business Park, supplied nine vehicles in one go to Dockray Hall Industrial Estate's Kendal Quality Carpets.

Opting to replace the entire fleet at the same time, the flooring company purchased eight Fiat Jucatos and a Peugeot Partner, which are already liveried and in full use by the firm.

Paul Aplin, PWA director, said local businesses should support each other more often.

"The company was looking to replace its fleet, they came to us and we were able to do them a good deal.

"They knew what they were looking for and we were able to meet that demand.

"It's a good example of local businesses working together, which we should all do more of."

Karl Greenall, director of Kendal Quality Carpets, said the company had needed to expand the fleet to keep up with its growing customer base.

"Obviously businesses look for a good deal, but working with other local firms is important to keep money in the region."
