MOTORISTS will have to pay £25 more for a season ticket to park in Appleby under a review of parking charges in the town.
At present a season ticket for Appleby's Broad Street car park costs £75 but it is set to rise to £100 after members of the Community and Economy Committee approved the increase at a meeting last Thursday.
The committee also rubber-stamped rises at the car park for 2006/7.
A ticket for up to two hours will rise 10p to 70p while an all day ticket will rise 20p to £1.40.
A report that went before the committee said the increases were modest and that car parks in Eden remained cheaper than many others in Cumbria.
The committee also agreed to increase charges for outdoor market stalls in Boroughgate, Appleby. Pitches will cost 10p more and stand at 90p per foot for 2006/7.
