HIGHGROVE bounced back to form as goals from Dan Sharkey and Scott Doherty eased them to a hard-earned 2-0 win over City Contract Services in the Premier Division of the North Lancashire Football League.

It was a tough battle for the Highgrove against the side still looking for their first win of the season and CCM Dynamos also had to battle in their match with Morecambe Royals.

They found themselves 2-0 down after Steve Fawcett and Rob Elder struck for Royals.

But in a rousing comeback, Steve Wiggins struck two penalties and then Simon Marshall struck to take his side back to the top of the Premier League.

There was a big shock in the first round of the Adam and Gaskell Senior Challenge Cup as first division Grange turned over Premier Division outfit Torrisholme.

Grange were hit by injuries and work commitments but Neil Turner, Steve Porter and Peter Gadsden hit the net with James Booth netting the Torrisholme consolation.

In the second round Ingleton beat Halton Rangers 5-3, while Trimpell went nap in the third round.

They beat AFC Moorlands 5-0, despite being under pressure for long periods of the game.

In the end Adam Cordingley and Cain Mulgrew bagged braces with Graham Cassidy scoring the other.

Premier Division leaders Storeys flexed their muscles to move into round four thanks to a 3-0 win over Caton United with goals coming from Graham Taylor, Nick Pinnington and John Eccles, while Cartmel and District were also victorious, beating Boys Club 3-1.

Tim Brookes, Dean Richards and Ritchie Wallbank were on target for Cartmel with Boys Club finding the net through Gary Davies.

Cartmel Reserves maintained their lofty second spot in the first division as they beat Vine 3-0 thanks to goals from Paul Airey, Lee Tracy and Brian Lowry while the game between Slyne-with-Hest and Community Sports produced a goal fest.

James Harrison blasted a hat-trick for Slyne and was joined on the scoresheet by Ian Palwanker and Paul Karim.

In an entertaining game Community Sports were never quite out of it and goals from Simon Brister, Andy Eccles and John Arnold added to the excitement.

Carnforth Rangers continued their second division glory march with a resounding 5-2 win at Marsh United Reserves thanks in part to a brace from Ben Shields.

Morecambe Hoops and Swarthmoor Social Club drew 4-4 in an entertaining game with Gary Wright bagging a brace for Hoops. He was joined on the scoresheet by Robert Goldsborough and Thamian McCabe.

Swarthmoor's goals came from John Bell, Graham Wilcock, Ian Kirkby and Gavin Jolley, while Torrisholme Reserves battered Caton United Reserves 4-0 with Matty Jackson, Mick Bateson, Adam Willis and Tom Craig finding the net.

Galgate Reserves beat Central Pier 2-1 in the Parkinson Collegian Cup, while Gregson and Boys Club Reserves drew 1-1 in Division Three.

The fourth division's Kelly Flynn Cunningham Cup saw Villa Royals batter Poulton United Reserves 5-0 in group one, while Bowerham edged out Furness Rovers 2-1 in group two.
