WALKERS are being warned to be aware of the changing weather and shorter daylight hours after a number of call outs from people getting into difficulty on the fells.
On Sunday afternoon a couple who lost the path when descending and became stuck on Kettle Crag in Great Langdale had to be rescued by the Langdale/Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team.
At the same time the team were called to search for a 36-year-old lady with her ten-year-old son who were overdue returning from Fairfield Ridge.
Both parties were safely escorted from the fells.
