THE Maize Maze will be thrilling visitors to South Lakeland for years to come after councillors gave the owners permission to make it a permanent tourist attraction.
Members of the South Lakeland District Council planning committee yesterday (Thursday) agreed to grant permanent planning permission for the attraction at Raines Hall, Sedgwick, after this year's 12-month trial period was deemed to be a success.
Coun John Galbraith said that the maze had been an asset to South Lakeland throughout the summer and had attracted three-times as many visitors as the owners expected.
