A TERRIFIED shop assistant was threatened with a screwdriver during a raid at Oxenholme Stores and Post Office yesterday (Thursday) lunchtime.
The hooded robber described as in his early 20s and wearing a dark blue coat threatened 35-year-old Linda Clement before smashing open an £8,000 electronic till and grabbing around £200 in notes.
The assistant was left shaken but unhurt following the incident, which happened at 12.30pm.
Detectives are appealing for sightings of a white Sprinter van that was last seen going towards the A65.
