MOTORISTS in Cumbria face being trapped by the county's fixed speed cameras for the first time after it was announced they were to be switched on before the end of the year.
Today (Monday) Cumbria Safety Cameras announced that the cameras on Salthouse Road, Barrow, are now operational while the ones on the A591 at Ings, A595 at Howgate and A590 at Millside are due to 'go live' before the end of the year.
A fleet of mobile cameras will continue to monitor the county's roads.
