RESIDENTS of Lancaster's Ullswater Road have benefited from a major clean-up operation.
Lancaster City Council staff and police joined forces to blitz' the road as part of a pilot scheme aimed at keeping city streets clean.
Drains and gulleys were cleared and repairs undertaken while rubbish was removed with a bulky waste collection service organised to help clear items such as cookers and fridges.
Mark Davies, head of city contract services, says the operation was well received by locals as all services arrived at the same time and caused minimal disruption while giving them the maximum benefit.
