ONE person was taken to hospital after a car and lorry collided on the M6 at Lowgill, near Kendal, yesterday (Wednesday).
Traffic was tailed back through the contraflow system at Farleton following the accident between junction 37 and 38 northbound shortly after 2pm. Police said a silver BMW estate driven by a 57-year-old Garstang man was in collision with a silver Scania lorry driven by a 44-year-old man from Grimsby.
Police said the accident happened at the start of the roadworks and that there was debris in the road prior to the collision.
The front seat passenger of the BMW, a 60-year-old woman from Garstang, suffered concussion and was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
