PHIL Wilson wants his Lancaster City men to work on the basics to counter their vintage tastes after a lot of hard work was undone by defensive mistakes at the weekend.
The Dolly Blues led the 10 men of Moor Green 3-1 only to draw 3-3.
And while the champagne-style attacking is a delight to watch, Wilson wants his men to do the basics better.
"We played some beautiful stuff going forward but we were undone by bad mistakes and some of the defending was very poor," Wilson tells the Citizen.
"We could have been 3-0 up before Moor Green had a touch of the ball but we didn't do the job at the back and sometimes we need to be more patient.
"We missed Gary Bauress on Saturday - but he didn't have a chance of playing thanks to his ankle.
"He was done at Workington and did well to last 70 minutes up there and we couldn't risk him against Moor Green.
"But I hope to have him fit for Saturday's match."
