PEOPLE with an interest in planning applications across South Lakeland can now have useful information at their fingertips any time of the day.
South Lakeland District Council has made it possible to submit, view and comment on planning applications from its website www.southlakeland. gov.uk.
The new facility allows people to create and submit a planning application to search and view a list of current and past applications and to comment and view progress on applications.
Planning officer Nick Hayhurst said the council is still developing this part of the website and hoped to have all the plans scanned in and available to view on line by November: "It's not always convenient for people to ring or visit the offices during working hours so we wanted to help them out by allowing them to access information and submit forms from their own homes or offices.
