I WATCHED Tonight with Trevor McDonald on TV the other night, when the topic was senior citizens rebelling about council tax - and I have to say I agreed wholeheartedly with what they had to say.

While I understand that council officials cannot discuss individual cases I would like to hear an explanation why our bills rise much more than inflation every year.
I have not received a wage increase for some time, yet year after year I am being asked to pay more council tax. And this is while we seem to receive fewer services each year.
One question I would like answered is why do we have to pay 12 months council tax in 10 monthly instalments? If it was spread over the whole 12 months it would be a little more acceptable.
This tax is unfair and it is time the Government reconsidered Ken Partridge, Lancaster.
