PEOPLE who sell fireworks to under-age children will be fined.
That is the message from police ahead of an operation designed to ensure safety is at the top of the agenda in the run up to Bonfire night.
Sgt Dal Dawkins says the plan is designed to prevent injuries and damage from the inappropriate' use of fireworks.
All retailers are being visited and advised of measures to help them avoid selling fireworks to under-age people.
And police and trading standards officers are undertaking test purchases at firework outlets.
Any retailer who sells fireworks to an underage person will be prosecuted or issued with a penalty notice for disorder.
