Classical music fans are in for a cracking evening on Wednesday, November 2 (8pm), when two internationally renowned players team up for an evening recital at the Brewery Arts Centre.

Concert soloist and chamber musician Martin Roscoe (who is also the president of the Westmorland Orchestra) joins dazzling violinist Matthew Trusler on the Kendal art centre's stage as part of the Steinway Suppers series.

Ulverston-based Martin's schedule includes engagements all over the world, recordings, and a professorship at the Royal Academy of Music.

He has appeared with many leading UK orchestras and is a regular soloist at the BBC Proms.

International concerto appearances include the Munich Symphony, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Singapore Symphony and Cape Town Symphony together with recitals in the USA and Europe.

Still in his twenties, Matthew (below) has already had an extensive music career with plenty of achievements under his belt.

At the age of 13 he won the Frederick Grinke scholarship to London's Royal Academy of Music and went on to win the outstanding student's prize at the Mozarteum Sommerakademie in Salzburg.

And to top it all, great violin master Ruggiero Ricci described him as one of the most remarkable young violinists he'd seen in many years.

He has performed with most of the UK's major orchestras, including the London Philharmonic and, when Matthew released his debut CD at 18, many critics predicted a brilliant career' in front of him.

Martin and Matthew's programme includes works by Mozart, Janacek, Debussy and Elgar's Sonata in E minor.
