A NATIONAL Trust worker who slipped while repairing a footpath in the hills above Grasmere, sparked a rescue operation on Monday.
The Langdale/Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team and Great North Air Ambulance were called to Helm Crag after the Langdale man slipped on wet rocks and sustained a deep cut to his knee.
Members of the LAMRT were at the scene for three hours, treating the cut before the 26-year-old was flown to the Cumberland Infirmary at Carlisle.
