A 44-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist from Durham was flown to hospital by air ambulance at the weekend after he was involved in a collision on the A685 at Kirkby Stephen.
The North Road incident happened shortly before noon on Sunday when the Honda CB 1300 motorbike collided with the rear of a Renault Clio driven by a 21-year-old man from Crosby Ravensworth. The motorcyclist was treated by paramedics at the scene before being flown to the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesborough, with internal injuries.
His 42-year-old female passenger was taken by ambulance to the Cumberland Infirmary at Carlisle with an injured arm.
The driver of the Clio, and his passenger, were both unhurt. Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Furniss of the Cumbria Police Mobile Support Group on 01768-891999.
