LANCASTER'S only specialist firework supplier is urging people to steer clear of danger this firework season and putting its money where its mouth is.
The Firework Factory cares passionately' about improving the public perception and safety record of fireworks in the community.
And today it is launching a three-week campaign to ensure that the safety message is both understood and improves the safe use and enjoyment of fireworks for all.
The programme of special events, competitions, and safety equipment giveaways is aimed at raising public awareness of how to use fireworks safely, reducing nuisance' misuse and accidents and increasing knowledge of new fireworks legislation.
Director Chris Tinning says it will include liaison with schools and youth groups to highlight the potential dangers of fireworks, a school safety poster competition and a huge safety section on the Firework Factory website.
There will also be a series of free evening seminars presented by Leon Hutchinson, one of the UK's top firework display artists and director of the British Pyrotechnists Association firework training courses, which will give all attendees a free safety pack including goggles, safety sheets, and safety lighters.
And to ensure maximise impact, the Firework Factory is offering £1.000 worth of fireworks to be used either by a school or charity as the prize in a competition.
Chris says he hopes the competition will help the community in yet another form because the winning group may be able to raise substantial funds through using the prize as part of an organised display.
