LANCASTER City's Conference North clash with Runcorn FC Halton was postponed on Tuesday night after most of the Dolly Blues' squad became stuck in traffic on the M6.
A series of accidents on the motorway network and the A6 madedriving into the city virtually impossible and the game was eventually called off at 8.30pm.
Runcorn's team coach managed to thread its way to Lancaster, having taken a huge detour into North Yorkshire and then the A65.
Even they were held up after a serious accident on the outskirts of Clitheroe and didn't arrive at Giant Axe until around 7.20pm 40 minutes later than Conference North rules permit.
With City's players mainly coming from Liverpool and Manchester, travel was nigh on impossible and by 8.30 only four fit players were at the ground with the remainder of the squad sat in traffic on the motorway or A6.
