RENOWNED mountaineer, writer and photographer Sir Chris Bonington is to deliver a charity lecture at Lancaster Royal Grammar School.

The talk, based on his mountaineering experiences, will raise funds for the Military and Hospitaller Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem, an Order committed to alleviating suffering.

His many triumphs include several successful expeditions to Everest as well as a host of first ascents to his name, including Nuptse, Annapurna II and Mount Vinson, the highest point of Antarctica.

The lecture will be held next Friday, March 11, at 7pm in the hall at Lancaster Royal Grammar School and will be followed by a question and answer session and light refreshments.

Tickets at £10 each and are available from the school office at Lee House, East Road, Lancaster or by phone from 01524-580600.
