Stress is a factor that can impact upon our health, whether that be emotional, mental or physical - we have all had to deal with it in our lives at some time or another, and it is important that we learn how to deal with it and minimise the damage that it can do.
You may not be able to control the source of your stress but you can take control of the situation by managing the way you respond to it.
Learn and practise relaxation and breathing techniques, make more time to rest and relax, and ensure that you build leisure into your routine.
Always remember the value of emotional support, you may find talking to family and friends about your situation helps alleviate stress, and is a far better option than keeping your anxieties bottled up, which will lead to further stress.
Taking regular exercise may also help relieve stress as it will increase your energy levels, boost your confidence and self-image and stimulate the release of endorphins, which are known as the happy hormone.
So next time you feel your stress levels rising, remember the damage you could be doing to your health and take control!
