CUMBRIA County Council is giving residents the opportunity to have a say on the future of the county's transport by allowing public consultation on the Local Transport Plan.
The draft of the plan has been produced by the council, with the help of transport organisations from across the county. It proposes a range of policies and projects on a wide variety of highways and transport issues, which could be carried out between 2007 and 2012.
The council believes that the plan is a "realistic" programme of what it would like to see happen over the five-year period.
Spokesman for transport and infrastructure Coun Kevan Wilkinson said that it was necessary to have public input on the plan in order to create a "high quality LTP which reflects the views of residents and stakeholders".
The plan is available for public viewing until Friday, March 11, in public libraries, council offices and on www.cumbria.gov.uk - the county council website.
