AS revealed on page 1, acting chief executive Mike Jones has written his promised report on the background to the suspension of the three senior officers at South Lakeland District Council. The Westmorland Gazette covered the episode as it unfolded, including the full report by the independent person, Rodney Brooke, who investigated and made recommendations. However, Mr Jones's own report does include insights into how the whole issue was perceived from inside the council, covering the role of the consultants; the effect on staff; and even the part played by the media. Michaela Robinson-Tate examines his findings.
