SCHOOLS are being given more time to win a top prize of £3,000 in a competition being run by Barclays Bank and The Westmorland Gazette.
Secondary and special schools in the Gazette's readership area (which covers South Lakeland, parts of Eden, north Lancashire, and North Yorkshire) have until March 4 to submit entries for the Schools in Action competition.
Schools must demonstrate how they are planning, or currently carrying out a project that benefits the whole community to win a top prize of £3,000 and two runners-up prizes of £1,000. Schools eligible for the competition have been notified.
