THE Rossetti-Cartledge Duo have individually been featured on Classic FM Radio and TV, CNN Television and BBC Radio, and have performed as soloists with Sir Andrew Davis and the London Mozart Players, and the London Festival Orchestra.
Together, since their London Wigmore Hall debut with John Williams in 1995, Nicholas Cartledge (flute) and Dario Rossetti-Bonell (guitar) have appeared at venues all over Europe, with their programmes featuring three centuries of music from Europe, the USA and South America.
And this week they will play together in the Eden Valley.
Nicholas, who The Times described as "an Ariel of the flute", is also a successful commercial and classical composer whose music has been broadcast on NBC Television in the USA and in Japan, Australia and across Europe. He is an original member of The Orchestra, the group that specializes in collaborations with artists from a wide range of musical backgrounds.
As well as recording for EMI, and with Martin Taylor and Sting, Dario's solo guitar playing can be heard on many film soundtracks including the Oscar-winning Shakespeare in Love, Love's Labour's Lost and the number one US chart Hollywood film City of Angels. He can also be heard on Never Better, Madeline, Great Expectations, The Honest Courtesan, Ever After and Captain Corelli's Mandolin.
Their concert in Appleby Public Hall, on February 20, at 7.30pm, is entitled The Grand Tour'. The programme includes Pergolesi's Concerto in G, La Romanesco by Sor, Piazzolla's Tango Etude and Three Preludes for Guitar by Villa-Lobos.
Entrance is £8 at the door, and inquiries can be made to the NWA secretary Patricia Clough or concert manager Ian Potts on 017683-53552 or 51934 respectively.
