YOUR correspondent A Hough-ton was quite right to complain about waste removal and recycling (Citizen, February 2).
I live in Skerton, where we do not have wheely bins, and have no way of recycling any rubbish unless I go to Salt Ayre myself.
I work at the university and have noticed that, while there were plenty of recycling bins for use by students last year, now there are hardly any at all.
We pay our council tax for services such as waste removal, road and pavement repairs and road sweepers, so why is it that all of these services seem to go from bad to worse year on year.
We all have to pay more so isn't it time the authorities got their act together?
Mrs Hinchey, Lancaster.
