I GET so infuriated by people moaning about rubbish that I would like to make a response.
And it simply is that anyone can make a difference to the rubbish on our streets, grass verges, parks and small woods - just by stopping to pick some of it up.
If each and every one of us kept a carrier bag in our pocket and popped tin cans, plastic bottles, crisp packets and the like into it and took it home with us to be recycled in the green boxes provided by the city council you would soon see the difference.
It's not very painful and every little helps. Alternatively, you could go out for an hour and see if you can fill a black bin liner you will get a great sense of achievement when you see the difference YOU have made to your area.
But most important of all, educate your children and grandchildren to collect rubbish not drop it.' Mary Peckham, Carnforth
