ANOTHER tip has sprung up on a Morecambe street or so a group of residents thought as fridges, furniture and toys started mounting up.

Craig Property Management, of Morecambe, cleared out four flats on Hornby Terrace before Christmas, dumping all the contents outside the back and front of the premises.

When residents complained to the company, they were told the flats were being renovated and that the rubbish was being dealt with.

But resident Kathleen Palmer says nothing has been done and she is sick and tired' of looking at the eyesore.

"I walk out of my door and it is right there in front of me. I'm fed up. It's a joke and has been there since Christmas."

She says a couple who have moved into one of the flats had to make a channel through the debris to get out.

"They have complained as well, but we just keep getting fobbed off and it isn't right that we should have to put up with it.

"I have contacted the council and environmental health but they will not move it because it does not contain food and so is not a health risk. But it needs shifting because it is disgusting.

"I pay my council tax like everyone else and I should not have to put up with this."

The Citizen contacted Craig Property Management but they declined to comment.

A spokesman for the council says: "Obviously the waste is commercial and should be dealt with appropriately with proper documented waste collection and disposal. If this is not done the firm is liable to prosecution and a fine.

"But Hornby Terrace is a bit of an oddity. It is unadopted land, the gardens are at the front of the properties, but there is a dirt track/roadway running through all of them, so each household has access to the front door. If this person is placing his rubbish on his land there is nothing we can do about it."
