KIRKBY Lonsdale edged nearer to their first ever North Lancashire League Premier Division title as they splashed their way to a 3-1 win over neighbours Ingleton.
Brian Pinnington gave Kirkby the lead after they had been outplayed only for Chris Bibby to level matters.
But goals in the last 10 minutes from Gary Hartley and Mark Rendell made the game and top spot safe as close rivals CCM Dynamos and Marsh United found their games rained off.
However, Storey's still harbour hopes of claiming the silverware. They are in fourth spot 14 points behind but with four games in hand.
They maintained their push against Boys Club despite not having things all their own way against the league's bottom side.
Boys Club took the kead when 17-year-old starlet Dean Robinson fired home a 30-yard stunner but Andy Sanderson levelled before the break and mid-way through a tense second half Carl Harwood beat the offside trap to score the winner.
In Division One, leaders Torrisholme suffered only their second defeat of the season as Vine triumphed by the odd goal in thanks to a brace apiece from Ben Paul Wood and Matt Thistlethwaite. Phil Stimpson, James Booth and Steven Leeming hit the net for Torrisholme.
Morecambe Royals Reserves' John Gates was on target but Darren Maudsley made sure Millhead earned a point, while goals from Matty Harrison and Mark Goulding saw Slyne- Reserves to a 2-1 win over Storey Reserves, for whom Liam Westworth scored.
A fit Bentham side moved into the final of the Scotts Sports/Whiteside Division Two Cup final with a 4-1 win over Halton Rangers.
Bentham had stronger legs on a gluepot of a pitch and even made light of the wind and went in front thanks to Gary Louth just before half time.
That became 2-0 through an own goal, and when James Earnshaw scored the game was all over although Halton did manage to make it 3-1 through Mark Plevey. That joy was short lived as Louth got his second and Bentham's fourth to ease his side into the final.
In league action John Butterworth hit a hat-trick for Bolton-le-Sands, while Nathan Downham and Richard Whittaker also scored in a 5-0 swamping of Bare Rovers, while Michael Purvis bagged a brace and Dave Robinson scored the other in Grange's 3-0 win over Freehold.
Torrisholme Reserves made up for the disappointment suffered by their first team as they beat Caton Reserves 5-3. Steve Brown (2), Kevin Murtagh, Glen Cowherd and Adam Willis were on target, while Andy Hodgson (2) and Tom Pinnington replied.
Millhead Reserves continued their excellent Third Division form as they beat Burton Reserves 6-2, with Jamie Nicholls hitting a hat-trick.
The most dramatic game of the day was a 5-5 draw between AFC Moorlands and Gregson.
The wind made defending interesting as Gregson surged into a 4-0 interval lead through Oliver Bailey (2), Andy Gibson and Richard Camp.
But Matthew Gatterall got his first of the season to start the fightback.
The other 18 scheduled matches were postponed, meaning a total of 161 games have fallen victim to the weather so far this season.
