POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an attempted mugging in Kendal.
The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, February 13 when a 40-year-old woman from the Kendal area who was walking alone, then took a short onto the cycle path which leads from Burton Road onto the Rinkfield Estate.
As she walked off the cycle path onto the tarmac footpath, she was approached from behind, by a man who tried to take her bag. Following a brief struggle in which the woman was slightly injured, she managed to escape.
The man is described as being white, male, aged between 17 and 20 with a fair complexion. He was wearing dark trousers a dark hooded top and a beanie hat. He ran off down the footpath towards the Rinkfield Allotments.
