SOUTH Lakeland District Council is to press ahead to try to find a solution to protect flood-threatened residents in Kendal.
At a meeting on Wednesday, Cabinet members agreed to instruct officers to look into ways of replacing the £2.8 million Stock Beck Flood alleviation scheme which councillors deemed unachievable. Officers will come back with a progress report on April 6.
Residents cautiously welcomed the news but said the council was moving at a "snail's pace".
