ARTISTS based in the Lancaster and Morecambe area are being offered free gallery spaces on a new website.
The Aim artists group formerly known as Artists in Morecambe has just redesigned and updated its website with links to it from other quality galleries and organisations.
It is to be re-launched later this year with new members and new opportunities to show work further afield.
Spokesman Chris Amriding (pictured) says forms such as writing and film-making will also be promoted on what he hopes will become a small but quality platform' for a wide range of creative arts practices.
"We don't believe artists should have to pay for space on a website gallery, especially when their work is so obviously good," he told the Citizen.
"We are therefore offering a number of pages totally free to artists whose work is suitable. They will get a big gallery of their own with separate pages for their biography and other details and they will also have the opportunity to exhibit with the group locally and nationally."
He says that creative writing is also going to be an art form on the agenda and writers will be invited to put forward ideas about presenting their work on the web.
To apply, artists are being asked to send images or examples of their work by e-mail to info@aimartists.fsnet.co.uk The work should be in the fine arts related stream in any media or medium and preferably contemporary. For further details, see the website at www.aim-artists.co.uk
