A TIN can recycling bin can-not be filled up because the hole is up against a fence.
Perplexed punters have tried to put their old cans in the bin on the car park of the Dog and Partridge pub in Bare, but it was put back the wrong way round when it was emptied.
Now locals find it impossible to clamber between other bottle banks and the fence to hit the slot.
Keen recycler Colin Tebbs, 86, takes his tins to the bank every day but is now fed-up that his green' effort is being blocked.
Colin (pictured) says: "It's a nonsense. There is no way to get to the hole for the tins because of how the bin was put back.
"It's right up against a fence and crammed next to the bottle banks.
"The blokes who emptied the bank last time just dropped it back and cleared off they never turned it round. There is no point in the bin being there if people cannot use it and when it's the wrong way round it can't be used."
Colin says he had made phone calls and even visited a city council office to complain - but no-one seems to want to help.
But there is good news for greens in Bare. The Citizen contacted bin owners Eurowaste UK and they vowed to not only put the bin the right way around but put a fresh one there.
A spokesman says: "If the hole is up against the fence I would imagine it is a bit difficult to fill up. It will take ages for that bin to fill up I will make sure it's sorted out.
"And I will get a new style bin put there with more holes in it."
