FRIENDS of Lancaster Royal Grammar School raised an impressive £15,000 through a spectacular Promises Auction.
The event saw a healthy crowd of 250 enthusiastic bidders competing for promises ranging from budgerigars and baking to holidays and home-cooked meals.
A meal cooked and served in your own home with school head teacher Andrew Jarman as head waiter caused a particular stir.
Friends committee members Julie Miller (pictured) says: "It was very exciting receiving all the promises and the whole school caught auction fever "We were over-whelmed with peoples' generosity and delighted it was such a success."
