DAIHATSU is hoping to join the range of dealerships already established in Lancaster with plans for a new garage in 2005.
The Japanese manufacturer also expects to open dealerships in Edinburgh, West London, Slough, York, Leicester and Oxford this year as part of a planned drive towards a larger representation across the UK.
Last year saw a record number of more than 40 Daihatsu garages open, bringing the total number of dealers across the UK to 126.
"We look forward to 2005 with great enthusiasm and confidence as we expect a significant sales surge with the impending launch of our new Sirion super-mini," said Paul Hegarty, operations director.
"It was essential for us to establish a strong national dealer network in time for this important new car. This we have more than achieved and both ourselves and our dealer colleagues can look forward to steady and sustainable sales growth."
