APPLEBY Grammar School student Nathan Williams has won the title of North of England Junior High Jump Champion at the North of England Junior Indoor Athletic Championships at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
Nathan, 14, competed in the Under 15 Boys High Jump competition and won gold with a clearance of 1m 74 cm well over his own height.
Nathan, from Great Asby has now entered the National Indoor Championships that will be held at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham at the end of this month.
In the summer Nathan intends to join Carlisle-based club Border Harriers to gain further experience and aim to qualify for the English Schools Championships.
