THE makers of a cult game want to hear from young people whose name has a sporting pedigree...
A new version of the finger flicking football game Subbuteo is about to be launched - and young Alan Smiths, John Terrys, Ashley Cole's and Thierry Henrys are needed.
Anyone under the age of 16 who has the same name as a famous footballer tcan apply to help unveil the game to the world.
The new slant sees actual Premiership players' faces on the figures - and if anyone shares a name with the stars from Arsenal, Man United, Liverpool or Chelsea they could be part of the launch at Old Trafford.
Subbuteo wants to pick a team of 11 namesakes for the big day, when the selected players plus one parent will be invited to battle it out in a knock-out Subbuteo tournament.
Junior footie fanatics who share their name with a player from one of the four clubs are asked to write to Subbuteo with their real name, address and contact number to be entered into a draw for the big prize.
