FANS favourite Jamie Hughes reckons Lancaster City can shoot Morecambe down on Saturday but is warning his side's defenders to be on their game.
Prodigal son Hughes, 27, blasted 32 goals for the Dolly Blues last season and has returned to the Giant Axe on loan from Conference outfit Northwich Victoria. He has recent experience of facing the Shrimps.
He was a substitute for the Vics in their pre-Christmas defeat at Christie Park but Hughes insists: "We can win on Saturday.
"I played 20 minutes against them for Northwich and to be honest I wasn't impressed with Morecambe defensively.
"They are good going forward and we need to be aware of that but at the back I felt that I made a bit of a difference against them and we got an equaliser.
"I caused them a few problems at the back in those 20 minutes, so with 90 minutes against them at the Axe you never know.
"And as long all the players have their heads screwed on it will be a good day and we will have a chance in front of a big crowd."
Hughes made his second City debut in the 4-0 defeat at Altrincham and adds: "I think a few of the lads were thinking of Morecambe. That shouldn't happen but we need to forget that result now."
