Poets came from all points of the compass in Cumbria, north, south, east and west - and also from north Lancashire.
Thanks, too, to the audience, it was good to see so many there.
It's good to gather together, in this case the focal point was for something that happened the other side of the geographic world, but could have happened to any one of us, as a global family.
I know the evening was to raise money for something hard to comprehend, but I enjoyed the evening and hope you did, too.
I said last night 'let's do it again!' though not, of course, with a disaster to motivate and impel us.
If anyone would like to read again, then I'm thinking of FRIDAY 22 APRIL, again at the Bluebell Bookshop.
Thank you once more for donating so generously. £147 was raised. I'll take it along to the Cumberland Building Society, get a cheque and a receipt and post the cheque to the Disaster and Emergency Committee (DEC).
Warm wishes, Geraldine Green
