THE Forestry Commission has announced that more woodland areas are to be reopened following the recent storms.
The Forest Parks of Whinlatter and Grizedale have now been almost completely cleared. In addition, tracks and paths around Ennerdale Water but not up the Ennerdale Valley are also open.
However, people are advised not to enter any other FC woodlands in Cumbria until they are made safe.
At Whinlatter, the centre with its shop and caf are open although it is worth checking where it is safe to walk. The playground and children's trails are also open.
At Grizedale the shops and caf at the centre are open although it is worth checking where it is safe to walk.
All forest walks and cycle routes with the exception of the Bogle Crag short trail are now open.
The majority of public rights of way are also open through the park, although the Go-Ape attraction is closed.
