DIVISION One leaders Torrisholme moved into the third round of the Adam and Gaskell Senior Challenge Cup as they edged out title rivals Highgrove in a five-goal thriller.
Steven Leeming was on target twice for Torrisholme with Dave Horay grabbing the other but goals from Russell Mitchell and Steve Brade made sure the tie went to the wire.
The game got off to an astonishing start when High-grove were awarded a penalty inside the first 20 seconds but they missed that.
They also saw a second spot kick saved in the clash so only had themselves to blame despite pressurising Torrisholme for long periods. The winners will now clash with Premier Division outfit Squires.
Premier Division leaders Kirkby Lonsdale are also in the next round although they didn't have things their own way in a 3-0 win over Division Three surprise package Fylde.
Goals from Gary Hartley, Andy Metcalfe and Kevin Cowin gave the final score an unbalanced look.
Slyne-with-Hest beat Caton United 6-2 in the Sam Price Memorial Cup thanks to a solid all-round display. Steve McQueen (two), Mark Goul-ding, Vernon Middleton, Jeff Crossley and Ian Palwanker were on target, while Mark Burkitt and Steve Oliver replied for Caton.
Arnside overcame Boys Club on penalties after the sides couldn't be separated after 120 minutes of action in which Boys Club did more of the attacking but failed to break through.
CCM Dynamos moved into second spot in the Premier Division as Stuart Thwaite and Steve Wiggins scored the goals in a 2-1 win over Ingleton, Chris Bibby's strike being little more than consolation for Ingleton.
Cartmel and District also moved up the table as they made light of fielding a team largely comprising youngsters. Goals from Dean Richards (two) and Chris Huttison giving them a 3-0 win over Morecambe Royals.
Highgrove's cup activity allowed Vine to move into second place in Division One their highest ever league position as they won by the odd goal in five against Storey's Reserves.
Rob Barker, Simon Ball and Kim Yong Sung scored for Vine with Jonathan Byers and Stuart Morgans replying for Storey's.
City Contract Services missed the chance to go second as they drew 1-1 with Ingleton Reserves, while Morecambe Royals Reserves and fellow strugglers Holme Athletic shared eight goals in an end-to-end thriller.
Ryan Lackey (two), Stuart Hall (two) Graham Wilcock and Gavin Jolley were on target for Swarthmoor as they beat Slyne Reserves 6-2, while Burton Thistle's Mark Smith hit a hat trick in his side's 4-1 win over Millhead.
In Division Two Bolton-le-Sands beat Torrisholme Reserves 3-0, while there was a 3-2 success for leaders Halton Rangers, Jonathon Pink scoring all three in the win over Morecambe Hoops.
Goals were the order of the day in Division Three as the nets bulged 46 times in just six games.
Leading the way were mid-table Millhead Reserves as they beat rock bottom Poulton United 12-1 with Antony Leonard leading the way with four goals.
Leaders Carnforth Rangers were also on form as they beat Allithwaite Rangers 7-0, Seamus Gorton hitting a hat trick, while Gregson and Burton Thistle Reserves drew 5-5.
