POLICE are appealing for information about a theft of antiques from Kendal.
Cumbria Police said that between Thursday January 6 and Saturday January 8 burglars forced entry to a farm in the vicinity of Brigsteer Road near Kendal and stole a rusty antique double hammer action double barrel shotgun, a brass bugle, an artillery officer's long sword sheathed in a brown leather scabbard, and an eighteenth century Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling belt circa 1905-1907 engraved with the name WN Hutchinson.
Police are particularly keen to hear from antique dealers who may have been approached with these items recently and anyone with information should contact Kendal CID on 01539-722611 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
