A SCHEME to ensure that all new houses built in the Yorkshire Dales are sold to local people came a step closer yesterday (Thursday).
The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority agreed in principle to a policy that will prevent new homes being bought as second homes or as holiday lets by wealthy outsiders, and reserve them for people who need to live or work within the national park.
The scheme is part of the YDNPA's Local Plan.
