I READ with amused interest the letter from Ms D Garlick regarding the wilful fouling of the highway by constabulary horses (Citizen last week).
Are we to understand from the ramblings of this individual that she honestly expects the police force to employ an officer to follow the horses around town with a bucket and shovel, periodically dashing off to dispose of a full bucket somewhere where it may be useful'.
Interestingly, I note that she makes no reference to other members of the equestrian fraternity, who seem to escape her wrath.
I am sure the numerous riding establishments in the area could benefit from her advice on equine hygiene and the dynamics of recycling manure - or is it just a police thing?
A Farquharson, Carnforth.
