ONE of Lancaster's neglected corners is getting a facelift at last seven years after it closed to the public.

Work has started on redeveloping the landmark Kingsway Baths and bridge houses but it comes with a warning to motorists.

Contractors need to close one lane of Back Caton Road for the next three Sundays for demoliton work, meaning delays to traffic and a diver-sion for pedestrians.

The baths, which closed in August 1997, feature a Grade II listed sandstone faade, while the bridge houses are also Grade II* listed.

A PC World store and a Pizza Express on the siteshould be complete by October this year.
