FORMER Kendal woman Carole Marr has been awarded an MBE for her services to the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
The 51-year-old, who was educated at Kendal High School, now works as an outdoor education teacher in Kilmacoln, Renfrewshire, where she also runs the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
Joan and Derek Singleton, Mrs Marr's parents who still live in Kendal, said they and their daughter were "absolutely delighted" with the accolade.
