STAFF worried they might lose their jobs at Farley Health Products, on Mint Bridge Road, Kendal, were told yesterday (Thursday) that there were no plans for any changes at the factory.
Fears arose after media reports of a takeover of part of its parent company, Heinz.
However, Heinz's general manager of corporate affairs, Michael Mullen, said the stories were "purely speculative" and added: "If a deal was to be done, we would notify our employees first. Our message to them would be it's business as usual'."
Farley employs 200 people at the site, which makes infant food.
